#NewMusicMondays May 15 2017

Leading with the UK, the first recommendation for the week is J Hus with his debut album “Common Sense”. Crazy with the husky melodies and an afrobeat influence, Fisherman has been making the right noises in the UK over a period of time even landing a feature on Stormzy’s huge GSAP. One of the UK scene’s movers and shakers in a thriving UK sphere, everything is in line for Common Sense to be a good album. Highly recommended listen.

Next up, feels like someone who really has been referred to as the next up for a while. Machine Gun Kelly re-enters the scene with “Bloom” promising to finally take that next step into a fully developed artist. Much progress is needed for the Cleveland emcee as it feels like his chances of critical reception and mass adulation are closing.

Adding more to that international flavour, Cassper Nyovest makes it into this week with “Thuto”. Cassper is South Africa’s biggest emcee and has been doing good things in the last 5 years and is hellbent on pushing Africa’s rap scene forward and  he’s doing that. He is truly trying to push hiphop to the fore front of the South African music scene and is doing big things towards that endeavour. Albums always littered with bangers, an albu. Woth a liste for sure!!!!
